Currently Reading - Deep Blue

I am finally uploading a currently reading, I guess I have been focusing on different things and different features and totally forgot about this one!
You'll be pleased to know that Celine and I have a few joint book reviews we will be posting in the new future, stay tuned!

~enjoy~

DEEP BLUE

18601430

18601430The first in a series of four epic tales set in the depths of the ocean, where six mermaids seek to protect and save their hidden world.

Deep in the ocean, in a world not so different from our own, live the merpeople. Their communities are spread throughout the oceans, seas, and freshwaters all over the globe.

When Serafina, a mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea, awakens on the morning of her betrothal, her biggest worry should be winning the love of handsome Prince Mahdi. And yet Sera finds herself haunted by strange dreams that foretell the return of an ancient evil. Her dark premonitions are confirmed when an assassin's arrow poisons Sera's mother. Now, Serafina must embark on a quest to find the assassin's master and prevent a war between the Mer nations. Led only by her shadowy dreams, Sera searches for five other mermaid heroines who are scattered across the six seas. Together, they will form an unbreakable bond of sisterhood and uncover a conspiracy that threatens their world's very existence.

This book was a complete impulse buy, I saw the cover and the writing inside, (which may I add is blue!) and bought it (its also a hard back and I cannot leave such a beautiful book in the shop. I caved in, yes.

I would never usually buy a book like this, its such a fantasy book. As I said an impulse buy. The man in the shop said "you should read this, I found it very soothing after finishing my A Levels". You cant argue with a nice soothing read.

(A/N: I know the covers on the left and right are the same but there are no different editions of the book.)

Currently Reading - Torn

12968828
Four girls. One dead body. A whole lot of guilt.

Alice King isn’t expecting the holiday of a lifetime when she sets off with her classmates on a trip to the Scottish wilderness, but she’s not exactly prepared for an experience beyond her darkest nightmares…

Alice and her best friend Cass are stuck in a cabin with Polly, the social outcast, and Rae, the moody emo-girl. Then there’s Tara – queen of mean. Powerful, beautiful and cruel, she likes nothing better than putting people down.

Cass decides it’s time to teach Tara a lesson she’ll never forget. And so begins a series of events that will change the lives of these girls forever...

A compelling story of guilty secrets, troubled friendship and burgeoning love.

Currently Reading - Paper Towns

After seeing the fault in our stars movie, I came to the conclusion that I haven't really read that many John Green books, and I mean John Green is a God and I need to expand the amount of John novels on my bookshelf.

Lets crack on...

I like this cover a lot.

This is the cover I have.

PAPER TOWNS

Quentin has always loved Margo Roth Spiegelman, for Margo (and her adventures) are the stuff of legend at their high school. So when she one day climbs through his window and summons him on an all-night road trip of revenge he cannot help but follow.

But the next day Margo doesn’t come to school and a week later she is still missing. Q soon learns that there are clues in her disappearance . . . and they are for him. But as he gets deeper into the mystery – culminating in another awesome road trip across America – he becomes less sure of who and what he is looking for.

I am only 126 pages in and it is absolutely amazingly gripping and a definite must read, John Green deserves the best writer ever prize.

Currently Reading - Maze Runner

After finishing Flip, I dug through my bookshelf and found a book which is going to be a movie in October. However I have vowed myself from watching the trailer until I read some more.

I think this cover looks dated

I have this edition.

THE MAZE RUNNER.

When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he's not alone. He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they came to be there - or what's happened to the world outside.

I was very doubtful of this book when I first picked it up and bought it, and I must have been asleep when I thought it was going to be rubbish. I think the fact that there wasn't any romance threw some people off a bit (that's what did it for me).

I wont be doing a blog on it until I have read the other two.

Currently Reading - Flip

To keep you updated on what I am currently reading.

FLIP  - MARTYN BEDFORD

THIS IS THE COPY I HAVE

DO I PREFER THIS COVER?
Fourteen-year-old Alex Gray wakes up one morning to discover he's not in his own bedroom. More surprising is that he doesn't recognize his hands, or his legs... When he looks in the mirror he gets the shock of his life. How is it possible that Alex has become another boy - a boy who everyone calls Philip?

Picking this book up I thought that this would be like Every day by David Levithan, but it couldn't be more different. So far, I am only 100 pages in and I am loving it. I am so excited to see where it leads to!
